During a routine inspection, M&F Tech Services detected an oil leakage on several gearboxes from old K-Tron feeders — feeders so old that its type plate still referenced a telex number! Recognizing that continued operation could cause further damage, we advised the customer to carry out a full gearbox overhaul to restore reliable performance and prevent costly failures down the line. Our team then carefully disassembled each gearbox and conducted a detailed inspection of all components.
Parts in good condition were thoroughly cleaned and reused, while worn or damaged components were replaced to restore optimal function. We also fully renewed all bearings and seals, ensuring the gearboxes are now prepared for many more years of reliable operation. This project showcases our expertise in extending the life of critical equipment, even when working with legacy machinery.
